Becoming a Channel Owner

Before you can list a channel or accept a booking, your account needs the Channel Owner role. This page walks through picking the role, adding it to an existing advertiser account, connecting your Telegram, what your owner desk shows once you are in, and the short checklist that stands between the role and your first booking.

What the role means

Paid Promotions has two sides — advertisers who buy placements and channel owners who sell them — and both live on one Onflow Ads account. The Channel Owner role is the seller side:

• It unlocks the owner desk, the listing wizard, the bookings queue, the listing manager, and payouts.
• It is additive: a channel owner can still advertise. You never lose the buying side by gaining the selling side. The owner subnav literally carries the advertiser pills after a separator labelled "Advertise".
• It is forward-only: once your account can sell, it is never demoted back to advertiser-only. That would strand your listings, bookings and payouts, so the platform simply does not do it.

The role is a permission, not a fee. Adding it costs nothing and does not change your subscription plan.

Choosing your role (new accounts)

1. Sign in at https://onflowads.com — or create an account and verify your email first.
2. Open Paid Promotions at https://onflowads.com/telegram/dashboard/paid-promotion. An account with no role yet sees the role chooser: two cards under the heading "Sponsored posts, escrowed end to end."
3. Pick the card that says "I own channels". It summarises the selling side — "List your channels, set your rates per format, accept bookings on your terms — payouts as fast as 24h on higher tiers", with three ticks: you approve every ad before it runs, auto-post and pin handled by the bot, spotlights, perks and featured placement. Press Continue as owner.
4. The button changes to "Tap again to confirm — this can't be undone". Tap the same card a second time to commit. The two-tap confirm exists because the choice is deliberate; pressing the other card instead re-arms that one.

What happens next depends on how recently you verified your email:

• Verified within the last 48 hours — the role commits immediately ("You're enlisted!"), a welcome email is sent, and you land on your new owner desk.
• Verified longer ago — Onflow Ads emails you a 6-digit confirmation code and routes you to a confirmation page. Enter the code to commit the role. The code expires after a short while (Resend code gets a new one), and too many wrong entries lock the confirmation for a few hours.

Picked "I'm an advertiser" instead?

No problem. The note under the chooser says it plainly: pick the side you will start with — you can add the other later. Owners can advertise too, and advertisers can list a channel any time (see the next section).

Adding the owner role to an advertiser account

If you already advertise on Onflow Ads, you do not choose again — you add:

1. Open https://onflowads.com/telegram/dashboard/paid-promotion. Your advertiser home loads as usual.
2. Scroll to the panel "Own a Telegram channel?" — "List it and earn from bookings — you keep everything you have here as an advertiser. The two sides live on one account."
3. Press Become a channel owner.

The change is instant: "You're a channel owner now too — list your first channel to start earning." The page reloads showing the owner desk, and every campaign, order, review and wallet balance from your advertiser side is untouched. If you press it on an account that already sells, you simply get "You can already list channels."

Connect your Telegram account

Connecting Telegram is optional but strongly recommended for sellers. It is how booking requests reach you as bot messages with Accept, Decline and Snooze buttons, so you can answer inside the 24-hour window without opening the website.

1. Go to your account page at https://onflowads.com/account.
2. Find the Telegram connection card and press Connect Telegram.
3. Telegram opens with a personal deep link to the Onflow Ads bot. Tap Start in Telegram to finish, then refresh the account page — it shows "Your Telegram is connected."

What the connection buys you as a seller:

• Booking requests as messages, with the same buttons the dashboard has and one extra: Snooze.
• The instant-verification path. Automatic verification of a listing requires Onflow Ads to confirm that your linked Telegram account is an admin of the channel you are listing. With no linked Telegram, that check cannot run and your listing goes to manual review instead. See Listing your channel.
• Outcome messages. When a listing is verified you get "Your channel is live!" with a Manage channel button that opens that listing's manager page; when it cannot be verified you get "Channel needs attention" with the reason.
• Payment alerts and order updates alongside the in-app feed and email.

tip

The message buttons are personal — they only work from the Telegram account linked to your Onflow Ads account, so a forwarded message cannot be used by anyone else.

Your owner desk

Once the role is set, https://onflowads.com/telegram/dashboard/paid-promotion becomes your desk ("Your desk — approve bookings, price your slots, and get paid"). It shows:

• Booking requests and + List a channel — the two primary buttons.
• Four live stats: Channels listed (in your pool), Live now (visible in the marketplace), Wallet (one balance across every Onflow Ads product), and Reliability (your score out of 10).
• My channels — a card per listed channel showing its avatar, name, handle, subscriber count and a status badge (LIVE in green, or the current stage in gold), plus two buttons:
  • Manage listing — opens the listing wizard in edit mode, at the pricing step, so you can change prices and rules.
  • Remove — takes the channel out of your pool. It arms first ("Confirm — earnings kept") and disarms itself if you do not confirm, so a stray tap cannot delete a listing.

First time here with no channels yet, a dismissible three-step guide points the way: List your channel (add it and price each slot type), Pass verification (the bot's access and your real reach are checked — usually quick), Accept and get paid (approve requests; payment releases once delivery is proven). The dismissal sticks in that browser.

What you need before your first booking

The role alone does not put you in the marketplace. The full path is:

1. A public Telegram channel with at least 1,000 subscribers. The exact current minimum is shown if your channel falls short.
2. @OnflowAdsBot added as an admin of that channel, with the Post Messages right.
3. A published listing — the four-step wizard, ending in verification. See Listing your channel.
4. A rate card — at minimum the required "1 hour top · 24 hours in feed" slot. See Prices and offers.
5. A reliability score of at least 4.0 out of 10 to accept bookings. Every account starts at 8.0, so this only matters if things have gone wrong.

Nothing is needed from you on the money side until you actually earn: identity verification only appears once your lifetime payouts cross a threshold. See Identity verification.

FAQ

Is the role really permanent?

The confirm button says "this can't be undone", and that is accurate in one direction: an account that can sell is never demoted back. But nothing is lost either way — owners keep full advertiser access, and advertisers can add the owner role at any time.

Can one account run both sides at once?

Yes — that is the design. One wallet, one reliability score, one account; you can buy placements in other channels while selling placements in your own. The only guard is against self-dealing: bookings where buyer and seller are the same person (or share an identity) still pay out the escrow normally, but earn no Standing, no reliability credit, and their reviews are ignored.

I pressed Continue and got "You're already enlisted, and your role can't be changed."

Your account already has a role. If it is Advertiser and you want to sell, use the Become a channel owner panel on your advertiser home instead — that path is always open.

Do I have to connect Telegram?

No — everything works from the website. But without it you will not get booking-request messages or the Snooze button, the 24-hour answer clock runs whether or not you saw the request, and your listings cannot take the instant-verification path. Most active sellers connect it.

Can I list a channel a colleague owns?

Only if you are genuinely an administrator of it. Verification checks that the linked Telegram identity on the account is an admin of the channel, so a listing can only be created by a real admin. Each listing belongs to the account that created it, with its own bookings and earnings.
