Delivery boosts
A delivery boost is a one-off purchase, paid from your Onflow Ads wallet, that upgrades one campaign at the moment you submit it. It is not a subscription, it does not renew, and it applies to that campaign only.
Any plan can buy one, including Free. That is deliberate: the boost rail exists so an occasional advertiser can put weight behind a single important campaign without committing to a monthly plan.
A delivery boost buys capacity (more placements, within the ceiling), priority (your ad is dispatched first when several are due at once) and speed (a faster look from our reviewers). It never buys a placement that breaks a rule. Every host's content level, weekly limit, review setting and refusal still binds a boosted ad exactly as it binds a free one, and no purchase lifts the 24-placements-per-cycle ceiling.
The menu
The options appear on the last step of the ad builder, under Delivery boost (optional):
| Option | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Free | Your plan's included cadence — no charge |
| Boost | $0.99 | +2 placements this cycle and earlier dispatch when the pool is busy |
| Premium Boost | $1.99 | +4 placements this cycle and higher dispatch priority |
| Featured | $2.99 | +6 placements this cycle, top dispatch priority and a star flag for reviewers |
Alongside the menu is a separate tick box:
| Add-on | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Priority Review | $2.00 | Your submission jumps the review queue and gets looked at first |
Priority Review can ride on any option including Standard, so you can buy speed of review without buying extra placements.
Buying one, step by step
- Open My advertisements, click Create an ad, and build the creative and buttons as usual (see Running ads).
- On the Level and submit step, pick your topic and content level, and leave How should this run? on Broadcast — boosts do not apply to swaps.
- Open the Delivery boost menu and choose an option. Each entry shows its price and, in brackets, the number of placements it will actually add to this campaign.
- Optionally tick Priority Review.
- Read the summary line under the menu. It states plainly what you are buying, the total, and your current wallet balance — for example: "+2 placements this cycle and higher priority · Priority Review — $2.99. Charged from your wallet ($12.40)."
- Click Submit for review. A confirmation appears: "This will charge $X.XX from your wallet for the delivery upgrade. Continue?" Confirm it.
- The charge is taken and the ad goes to review in the same operation. If the submission fails for any reason, the charge rolls back with it — you are never charged for an ad that didn't land.
Once submitted, the ad row in My advertisements carries a badge showing what you bought: the boost's name (with a star for Featured), and a Priority flag if you added Priority Review.
Reading the summary line before you pay
The summary line is written to stop you buying something that won't fit. Watch for these three variants:
| Summary says | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Standard cadence — no charge." | Nothing selected, nothing to pay. |
| "…no extra placements (your plan already runs the maximum 24) — priority only. A delivery boost adds nothing here — Priority Review still speeds review." | Your plan's own cadence already fills the ceiling. Buy Priority Review alone instead. |
| "That's more than your balance — top up or choose Standard." | Your wallet is short. Add funds first (see the Wallet and Payments section) or submit on Standard. |
The ceiling, and the promise not to sell you nothing
No campaign exceeds 24 placements per cycle. Your plan's included placements, plus any credit-bought extras, already occupy part of that budget; a delivery boost can only fill what is left.
If the boost you picked would not fit in full, it is refused at submit time rather than quietly clipped:
"This campaign has room for only N more placements this cycle before the 24 ceiling, but Featured adds 6. Pick a smaller boost, lower your extra drops, or add Priority Review on its own."
You have three ways forward, all named in the message: choose a smaller boost, reduce your credit-bought extras to free up headroom, or buy Priority Review on its own. Nothing is charged when a boost is refused.
Boost placements are sold at face value, and the reliability haircut is applied when your ad is dispatched — to the whole placement count, bought placements included. If your score has you on 75% or 50% reach, a boost delivers proportionally less. Check the reliability pill at the top of the exchange page before buying, and see Rules and fair play.
What "priority" means
Priority is about order, not extra reach.
When more ads are due to be placed than there are suitable channels free at that moment, the exchange dispatches in priority order. A higher-priority ad is placed first; the others wait for the next opportunity. A boosted ad never exceeds any host's limits, never reaches a channel it wasn't eligible for, and never displaces an ad that is already live.
Your subscription plan also carries dispatch priority. A boost adds to it, so a Featured campaign from a Free-plan member is dispatched ahead of an unboosted free campaign.
Refunds
| Situation | What happens to the charge |
|---|---|
| Your ad is declined in review | Refunded to your wallet automatically |
| You cancel before any placement delivered | Refunded to your wallet automatically |
| You cancel mid-cycle, after at least one placement ran | Forfeited — the boost was partly used |
| An appeal re-approves a declined ad | The ad runs on its standard cadence. The boost was already refunded at decline, so it is not reinstated |
| The cycle finishes normally | Spent, as intended |
Refunds restore the exact split of your wallet balance that was spent, including any promotional (locked) balance, which is always spent before cash. Each charge can only be refunded once, whichever path the campaign took.
Rules and edge cases
- Broadcast only. Choosing Swap hides the boost menu and clears any selection, and the exchange refuses a swap submission that tries to carry a delivery upgrade. A swap is a single 1:1 placement with no placement count, so there is nothing to boost.
- One boost per campaign. Boosts are chosen at submit time; you cannot add one to a campaign that is already running, and you cannot stack two.
- Independent of your subscription. Any plan can buy any boost. The boost's placements sit on top of your plan's, and are bounded only by the 24 ceiling — not by your plan's cap on credit-bought extras.
- Priority Review is not a guarantee of approval. It moves your submission to the front of the queue. A human still decides, on the same rules.
- Paid plans are already in the fast lane. Lite and above always sit in the priority review queue. Buying Priority Review on those plans adds nothing to review speed — the confirmation on submit will say "You're in the priority review queue" either way.
FAQ
Where does the money come from?
Your Onflow Ads wallet. If the balance is short, the exchange refuses the purchase and tells you: "The Boost delivery upgrade costs $0.99 and your wallet is short. Top up, or submit on the included Standard cadence at no charge."
Does a boost make my ad reach channels it otherwise couldn't?
No. It gives your ad more placements within the pool it was already eligible for, and sends it earlier when the pool is contended. Eligibility is decided by your content level, your topic and your targeting — never by what you paid.
Can I boost and use credits on the same campaign?
Yes. They are separate rails and they stack, as long as the total stays inside the 24-placement ceiling.
Is the star on a Featured ad shown to hosts or subscribers?
No. It flags the submission for our reviewers only. Nobody hosting or reading your ad sees anything different.
My ad was declined and I'd paid for Featured. Do I get it back?
Yes, automatically, to your wallet — no claim needed. If you fix the ad and submit again, you choose (and pay for) a boost again on the new submission.
