Using the Get help widget
The Get help widget is the floating chat button that sits in the corner of pages on https://onflowads.com. It is the fastest route to help: it can answer common questions instantly, tell you whether the team is at the desk right now, and open a support conversation in a few taps.
This page is the tour of the widget itself. The things you do with it each have their own page:
Where the widget appears
The widget appears on the public site and on your dashboard pages whenever support chat is switched on.
The widget only appears when support chat is enabled for the site — the team can turn it off, or limit it to certain pages. If it isn't there, use the contact form or email support@onflowads.com. It reaches the same team and the reply arrives the same way.
Opening and closing the panel
- Look for the round chat-bubble button in the corner of the page. Its accessible label is Get help.
- Click it. A panel opens, titled Support (the team can rename this).
- To close it, click the same button again, click the Close icon in the panel header, or press the Escape key.
Opening the panel always returns you to the help home screen and re-checks whether the team is online.
The availability line
At the top of the panel, under the title, you'll see the team's live availability:
| What it says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Online — we usually reply within a few minutes | Someone is at the support desk right now. |
| Offline — we'll email you as soon as we're back | Nobody is live at this minute. Your message still goes through, and the reply still arrives by email. |
| Checking availability… | The panel has just opened and is still fetching the status. It updates in place a moment later. |
Offline is about who is at the desk, not about whether your message is received. Everything you send is stored and emailed to the team either way. See Opening a support ticket.
The help home screen
When the panel opens you'll see, from top to bottom:
- A greeting — by default "Hi there 👋 How can we help you today?" (the team can customise this line).
- Find an answer fast — a question box with the button Get an instant answer. This searches the Onflow Ads help centre. See Getting an instant answer.
- Or write to the team — a list of one-tap topics that opens the message form. See Opening a support ticket.
- Your messages — your recent conversations, each with a status chip. This section only appears once you have at least one conversation on this device. See Ticket statuses and threads.
At the very bottom of the panel is the permanent footer line: "Onflow Ads Support · replies are delivered to your email." That is the single most important thing to know about the widget — human replies come to your inbox, not to the panel.
The unread badge on the button
When the panel is closed, the chat button can show a small red badge with a number. That number is the count of unread updates across your recent conversations. It counts up to nine and then shows 9+.
Rules worth knowing:
- The badge is refreshed periodically while the panel is closed, and it covers the most recent conversations stored on this device — so a reply on an older thread still lights it up.
- Opening the panel clears the badge.
- Opening a specific conversation marks that conversation as read.
How the widget remembers your conversations
The widget keeps a short list of your recent conversations in the browser you used, so Your messages is there the next time you open the panel without you signing in or doing anything.
| Behaviour | Detail |
|---|---|
| How many are remembered | The most recent handful of conversations on that device. |
| How many are listed on the home screen | The four most recent. |
| Where the list lives | In that browser's local storage — not in your account. |
| What clears it | Using a different browser or device, a private/incognito window, or clearing site data. |
Clearing your browser data hides the list. The conversations themselves are not deleted — you can always reopen one from the link in any email you received about it. See Ticket statuses and threads.
Opening a conversation from an email link
Every acknowledgement and reply email contains a View your conversation link back to the site. Opening that link:
- Takes you to Onflow Ads with the conversation's reference attached to the address.
- Adds the conversation to Your messages on that device, if it isn't already there.
- Opens the widget straight onto that conversation.
This is how you pick a conversation back up on a new phone, a new laptop, or after clearing your browser data.
Anyone who has that link can read and reply to that conversation. Don't forward those emails to people you don't trust.
What the widget will not do
- It will not show you the text of a human reply. Those are delivered by email only — the panel tells you a reply exists and prompts you to check your inbox.
- It will not accept file attachments. Paste error text and links into the message instead.
- It does not require an account. Anonymous visitors can open a conversation with just an email address.
If the widget misbehaves
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Couldn't load this conversation — please try again." | A temporary loading problem. Close and reopen the panel; if it persists, check the status page. |
| A conversation vanishes from Your messages when you tap it | The stored entry no longer matched a conversation on the server, so the widget tidied it away and returned you to the help home. Reopen it from an email link, or start a new message. |
| "Too many attempts. Please wait a minute and try again." | Sending and searching are rate-limited to prevent abuse. Wait a short while and try again — nothing you already sent is lost. |
| The button is missing entirely | Support chat isn't enabled on that page right now. Use the contact form. |
FAQ
Do I need to be signed in to use the widget? No. If you are signed in, the message form pre-fills your name and email, and you may get an instant AI first reply on a new ticket. Neither is required.
Does closing the panel cancel my message? No. Once a message is sent, it exists. If you close the panel while it is being sent, the widget simply switches to watching for the reply and will show the unread badge when it arrives.
Can I use the widget on my phone? Yes — it works the same on mobile browsers. Remember that the conversation list lives on that device.
Is the widget the same thing as live chat? The widget is Onflow Ads' own help panel. When the team runs a live-chat tool instead, the widget is replaced by that tool's chat bubble and the dashboard Start a chat button opens it. See The Support page in your dashboard.
